From NY-12 to the World: The Potential Domestic and Global Impact of a New Political Vision

By Samantha McClellan

Jack Schlossberg, who is running for representative of NY-12, has centered his campaign on themes of hope and transparency. One aspect of Schlossberg’s campaign that distinguishes it from some of his opponents is that he has not accepted Super PAC money.

Millions of Americans continue to face a cost-of-living crisis, with many struggling to afford housing, food, and healthcare. Schlossberg has stated that addressing these issues is one of his main priorities and has proposed policies that he says would help ease financial burdens on families. Among these proposals are a child tax credit to help families manage rising expenses and a federal renter tax credit.

In addition, Schlossberg has said he would support legislation to eliminate President Trump’s tariffs on food and clothing imports. He argues that these tariffs contribute to higher prices for consumers at a time when the cost of living remains high.

Schlossberg has also stated that NY-12 is one of the most influential congressional districts in the United States because it includes major financial, political, and cultural institutions. He has argued that elected officials should prioritize the interests of their constituents. His opponents, Alex Bores and Micah Lasher, have received financial support from Super PACs to fund their campaigns.

Schlossberg’s campaign slogan is “Believe in Something Again.” His campaign has focused on issues such as affordability, government transparency, and political reform as he seeks to represent New York’s 12th Congressional District.
